On International Day of People with Disability (3 December), we acknowledged and recognised the impact our clients, family, and friends have on our organisation and the continued contributions they make for an inclusive society.
We also welcome the new Australian Disability Strategy and Employ My Ability, announced by the Australian Government, set to drive change to uphold the rights, inclusion, and participation of people with a disability.
With this, TASC is thrilled to announce our new Board Member, Dr. Sharon Boyce, who comes to us with expert knowledge, skills, and lived experience. As well as a disability advocate, Dr. Boyce is a lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland, Chair of Queensland Disability Advisory Council, and continues to work with many organisations across Queensland to raise awareness of living with disability.
CEO Frances Klaassen OAM said that it is a great privilege to welcome Dr. Boyce into the TASC family.
“Dr. Boyce is an inspiration to us all, and we are honoured to have her as a part of our Board. She will bring not only lived experience, but a wealth of knowledge,” Ms. Klaassen said.
“”We look forward to having Dr. Boyce’s voice on the Board and are excited for the insight she will bring.”
To welcome Dr. Boyce, we are excited to share one of her educational YouTube videos about ‘Discovering Dyslexia, Breaking Down the Barriers’. Please support Dr. Boyce, like and share her video with your friends!
