TASC Advocates can support and guide you to tell your story for submission to The National Redress Scheme (NRS), to help address those who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse.
The NRS is funded by the Commonwealth Government and is facilitated by the Royal Commission of Australia.
The National Redress Scheme website outlines who can apply and they outline the criteria as:
- you experienced sexual abuse when you were a child (under 18 years of age), and
- the abuse happened before 1 July 2018, and
- an institution was responsible for bringing you into contact with the person who abused you, and
- you were born before 30 June 2010, and
- at the time you apply, you are an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.

TASC’s Manager, Social Justice Services, Terri-Ann Dwyer said redress can help address any wrong doings or harm experienced and acknowledges suffering endured by abuse.
“The NRS was established to help those that have experienced abuse within an institution or out-of-home care settings, such as orphanages, foster care, jails, schools, churches or detention centres (to name a few),” Terri-Ann said.
