TASC delivers the free Seniors Legal and Support Service in Toowoomba, Ipswich and surrounds.

This is a government-funded service that provides free legal advice and social work support to anyone aged over 60 years, and any First Nations person aged over 50 years.

The Seniors Legal and Support Service is for anyone who is affected by or concerned about Elder Abuse. It is not means-tested.

The service can assist people who are being physically harmed or sexually abused; threatened with violence or being verbally and emotionally abused, harassed or intimidated.

Elder Abuse is not just physical. We can assist you if you are being neglected by a family member or other person you trust, or a service provider (such as an aged care facility).

We can help you if you are being taken advantage of financially, for example if you are being asked to lend money and it is not paid back, or if you are being pressured to give a family member control of your credit card or bank account.

Our solicitors and social workers in Toowoomba and Ipswich will help you with free legal advice and information, shortterm counselling, advocacy, or referrals to other services near you.

We will help you plan for your own safety and to protect your money and assets.

We provide advice on Enduring Power of Attorney, Advanced Health Directives and other legal matters.

If you have a dispute with a family member about shared family living (e.g. “granny flats”) or seeing your grandchildren, we can help you understand your rights.
