About Our Legal Services

Our legal service offers free legal advice to eligible clients in Toowoomba, Ipswich, the Darling Downs and Maranoa.

Our free, general legal services include information, referrals and legal advice and we aim to empower clients with self-help strategies to assist with their legal matters.

TASC has legal service offices Ipswich, Toowoomba, Roma and Goondiwindi.  We also conduct a Rural Women’s Outreach Service for Charleville, Cunnamulla, Miles, Tara, Chinchilla, Dalby, Warwick, Stanthorpe, Goondiwindi and St George.

TASC’s legal service also participates in community legal education and systemic advocacy through law reform.

  • Tenancy for landlords
  • Representation with criminal matters except in exceptional circumstances
  • Drafting Wills

What to expect when you contact us

Eligibility

Once we confirm your legal problem falls under our areas of service we determine eligibility through the following criteria.

  1. Where you live – TASC is funded to provide our legal service to adults living in the Ipswich, Toowoomba, Darling Downs and south west Queensland regions.
  2. Financial situation – Our service is for people in a low to middle income situation. If you are unsure if you qualify, please contact us for a proper assessment.
  3. TASC will conduct checks during our legal intake call to make sure we comply with QLD legal practitioner rules.

Our teams provide community legal education and can visit your school or workplace to help you better understand legal issues.
